RAVENA
– Teresa A. Day died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 after a long
illness. Teresa was born June 13, 1928 to the late Nicola and Maria
Colucci Diacetis of Ravena, the youngest of 11 children and the only
one born in a hospital.
Teresa enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and craft shows. She was
especially proud that she was able to mow her lawn and use her snow
thrower well into her later years. She always said that her greatest
pride were her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandson.
Teresa was the wife of the late Robert Day; mother of Denise (David
LaFleur, Sr.) of Menands, Lisa Wilsey of Cairo, Laurie Byerwalters
(the late Richard, Jr.) of Ravena and Peggy Day of Voorheesville;
grandmother of Richard (Melissa) Byerwalters, III of North
Greenbush, Michael Wilsey of Delaware, Christa and Jenna LaFleur of
Menands and Luke Day of Voorheesville; great-grandmother of Richard
J. Byerwalters, IV of North Greenbush; and sister Clara O’Connor of
Albany. Teresa was also “Mom” to Al and Tricia Visconti of Ravena
and “Granny Day” to Julianna and Kelly Visconti of Ravena. Teresa
was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony, Sr., Dominic, Theodore,
Sr., Louis, Albert, Sr., Salvatore, Carmen and Christopher Diacetis
and sister Susan Abatto.
Teresa’s daughters would like to express their heartfelt thanks to
Brenda Miner, who made it possible for Teresa to remain in her own
home as her health declined. They would also like to thank Dr.
Patrick Caufield for his caring and guidance these last few months.
Funeral services will be held 9 AM Saturday, October 2nd at St.
Patrick’s Church, Ravena. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s
Cemetery, Coeymans. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in
memory of Teresa may be made to Senior Projects of Ravena, PO Box
