TAMPA, FL- Tina Lynn Maiorana, 34, beloved daughter, sister and aunt, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at her Tampa home.
Born in Albany, NY on August 3, 1976, she was the daughter of Maryann Libertucci Maiorana of Dublin, California and formerly Ravena, New York and the late Joseph Maiorana. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother and sister in-law, Frank and Leticia (Ruiz) Maiorana, her dear niece, Natalia and her nephew/godson, Cristiano Maiorana, all of San Ramon, California and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
In addition to her father, Tina was also pre-deceased by her paternal grandparents, Francesco and Santa (Cannistraci) Maiorana and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Vincenza (Mormile) Libertucci.
Tina was raised in Ravena, New York where she graduated from Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School in 1994. She attended Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania where she graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Business Management and Finance. Tina relocated to Tampa where she attended the University of South Florida and received a Master’s Degree in Education. She taught at Seminole Elementary School in Tampa for five years and since 2005 taught technology classes at Robinson High School. Tina was Head Cheerleader Coach for the Robinson Knights. She also worked summers for NCA and UCA Cheer Camps.
As a young girl, Tina was a member of Ravena Swim Team, Albany Starfish Swim Team, Pop Warner Cheerleaders, RCS Cheerleaders and RCS Softball. She was president of her college sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha at Gannon University.
Tina will be missed by her family, many friends, and beloved cheerleaders at Robinson High School. She will be remembered for her warm, welcoming smile.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena, NY. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Coeymans, NY. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, September 29 from 4-8 p.m. at Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena, NY.
