RAVENA – Frank Flynn
O’Brien, 73, passed peacefully July 26, 2009, his kind heart finally
gave out. He was born in Fall River, MA, raised his family in
Marcellus, NY and lived in Liverpool and Ravena, NY. In Ravena, he
was on the Village planning board, a prior owner of Oakbrook
Apartments and an unofficial foster grandfather to many. He was the
general contractor who built many family homes, and later, Breaside,
Willows, Pine Crest Manor and Kimbrook Apts in CNY. His passions
were collecting antique tins and constant renovation projects.
Frank is survived
by his children Frank and Mike O’Brien and Sharon Saunders; their
mother, Carol O’Brien; grandchildren, Matthew, Shannon, Kelsey and
Erik O’Brien, Elijah and Lillian Saunders; sisters Joyce McNally,
Eleanor Mayo, Mary O’Brien and Jane Massion; many nieces and
nephews, the countless people he helped get back on their feet and
his many cats. Frank was predeceased by brother William Jr. and
parents William and Helen Flynn O’Brien.
Calling hours will
be held Saturday, August 8th from 5 to 7 PM at the Babcock Funeral
Home, Ravena. A memorial service will be held Sunday August 9th at
12 Noon at the funeral home. Donations in lieu of flowers may be
made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave.,
