ATHENS – Robert L. Pemberton, 76, passed away Thursday, December 2,
2010. Robert was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. In
1989 he retired after 32 years of service with the NYS Thruway
Authority in Catskill. Bob and his wife Betty were the owners of the
former B & B Antiques on Rte. 9w in Athens. They enjoyed life,
traveling and their winter home in Florida.
Survivors include his daughter Lisa Pemberton; step-daughter M.
Elizabeth DeWees; nieces Cindy (Chuck) Burns, Terry Pemberton and
Michelle Pemberton; sister-in-law Joan Pemberton; brother-in-law
Floyd (June) Prince and their children Kim, Darcy and Floyd Jr. Also
survived by grandchildren and great and great-great nieces and
nephews. Robert was predeceased by his wife Betty Pemberton.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon on Monday, December 6th at the
Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. A calling hour will precede the
service starting at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Chestnut Lawn
Cemetery, New Baltimore.
