“Dick was a friend
to everyone. He shared his bright spirit and joy of life with all
he met. From the hundreds to whom he delivered Heath’s Milk, to the
multitudes he called square dances for, to the many who served on
church committees with him, all were influenced by his positive
outlook. His love of music led him to be a nearly life-long member
of the church choir which led him to master many instruments
including the violin, drums, organ, hammered dulcimer, mountain
dulcimer and harmonica.
He loved camping,
reforestation, gardening, whistling, writing poetry and was devoted
to his wife and family.
