SELKIRK – Burton Almindo, Jr. went home on April 17, 2017. He was a
selfless, humble, kind man and the best father anyone could ask
for. Burt grew up in Coeymans, New York during the Great
Depression. He served in the United States Air Force, had
businesses and worked for the State Government for over 32 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid gardener,
bowler and golfer. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church in
Burt joins his wife, Susan, parents Rose and Biagio Almindo,
brothers, Michael, James and Joseph Almindo and sisters Mary Stumpo
and Frances Zanetti. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Lorraine)
Almindo and Mark Almindo; his sisters, Virginia (August) Corsi and
Louise Almindo; his brother, Frank Almindo; his girlfriend Sharon
Dewsbury; his grandchildren, Chris and Ashley Carboni and Oscar and
Ava Almindo; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home on Sunday, April 23rd
from 2 to 5 PM. A Mass will be held at The Church of St. Patrick,
Ravena on Monday, April 24th at 11 AM with interment following at
St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Coeymans. Contributions in memory of Burton
may be made to the charity of your choice.
