He grew up in Ravena and graduated from RCS High School in 1981. He went to work at Rick’s Body Shop but his career as a car mechanic ended in 1985 when Lance was in a serious car accident and had back surgery.  After working at Napa, then for his brother at Modern Metal,  Lance went back to school. He attended Hudson Valley Community College where he earned a certificate with a 4.0 and began a new career working with and being an instructor of computer aided drafting. Lance found success in this field and made several close friends. His final career move was Inside salesman at Hannay Reels in Westerlo, NY. He was a valued employee, and was blessed to have a very caring, compassionate work family who did everything to support Lance in his long battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Lance was a brave warrior, always optimistic, and a fighter to the end.

Lance had many interests such as gardening. Every spring he would plant a huge vegetable garden and was so proud and happy with his bounty. Lance also enjoyed golfing for many years. But his true passion was hunting with his very good friend Carmine Dowd. Lance became interested in competitive shooting, became a range officer and was a member of the Watervliet Fish and Gun Club and had a close group of friends. He was very successful as a shooter and mentor. He looked forward to the local and away shooting matches every year.  Lance loved music, especially The Grateful Dead and saw them perform multiple times.

Lance was predeceased by his father, Orville Boehlke. And his beloved cat, Moe.

Lance and Ronna enjoyed taking their grandchildren to Buffalo Bills Games, soccer matches, and many other adventures.  Lance also loved riding in his Audi convertible. Lance had many close friends in the Ravena community who were always there for Lance.  Tom and Tina Hamilton, Marie Parker (our Angel on Earth), Terry Pemberton, Mark Brate, Virginia Palmer, Carmine Dowd, and many, many others.
