– Carmela Ventura Cinque, 94, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013
at home with her loving family by her side. Carmela was born in
Ravena on August 6, 1919, daughter of the late Angelo and Frances
Ventura. Carmela married Anthony Cinque of Manhattan on May 3, 1952
and lived in Queens. She was a hairdresser in the 1950’s and also
ran the Ghostly Getups Halloween Stores from 1990 to 2005.
Carmela was predeceased by her husband Anthony Cinque and her son
Anthony S. Cinque who died in 1995 at the age of 40. Survivors
include her son, Michael Cinque of Selkirk; grandchildren, Destiny
M. Cinque of Selkirk, Michelle Walsh of Schenectady, Anthony A.
Cinque and Alexa Cinque both of Guilderland; and her sister
Josephine Ventura of Florida. Carmela was also predeceased by her
brothers, George, Joe, Charles and Ben Ventura and her sisters, Mary
Dallura and Angela Norris.
Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on
Tuesday, November 12th from 4 to 7 PM. A prayer service will be
held 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 13th at the Most Holy Redeemer
Cemetery Mausoleum in Niskayuna.
