-- Paul W. Crewell, age 71, died suddenly on December 19, 2017. Mr.
Crewell was born in Albany on February 21, 1946 to the late Elvin
and Anna Mary Cupps Crewell. He married his high school sweetheart,
Ruth Crewell, on October 16, 1965. They have been happily married
for 52 wonderful years. Mr. Crewell retired from Hamilton Printing
Company of Castleton in 2008 after 44 years of service.
Paul enjoyed
helping his neighbors and friends and was a great carpenter and
handyman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, trap
shooting, gardening and most of all spending time with his loving
family. Paul proudly served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967 and
was a member of the Ravena VFW.
In addition
to his wife, he is survived by his beloved daughter (the apple of
his eye), Catherine (Jeffrey) Carleton of Spring City, PA; his
sister, Linda (Mark) Fremgen of Colonie; several wonderful nieces
and nephews; his precious cat, Callie; and grandfather to his
daughter’s chinchillas, Dasher and Cosmo. Paul was predeceased by
his sister, Jeannette Duncan and his brother Thomas Crewell.
The family
would like to thank Paul’s nephew, Andy Gonyea and his friends for
building the wheelchair ramp and to the wonderful staff at St.
Peter’s Hospital for their compassion during his illness.
Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on
Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 11 to 1 PM. All other services
will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of
flowers, the family has requested donations to the
American Cancer Society. |
