COEYMANS Ė Helky Y.
Frangella, age 93, died peacefully at the Hospice Inn at St. Peterís
Hospital on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. She was predeceased by
her husband John Frangella, Sr. Helky is survived by her loving
children; Einie Stine, John (Judy) Frangella, Jr., and Sandra (John)
Dottino; four grandchildren; John and Brian Frangella and
Christopher and Alaina Dottino; and many relatives and close
friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Eino and Hilma Ylinen.
Helky was born in New York City and grew up in Spencer, NY. She
moved to Coeymans after graduating from Cortland State Teachers
College to teach physical education in the Ravena-Coeymans School
at-home mother, Helky always gave of herself unselfishly. Family
and friends came first. Helky spent many years actively
volunteering as classroom parent and PTA member; coordinated and ran
Red Cross swim programs for children and adults; was a Girl Scout
troop leader, a STARS program volunteer at the A.W.Becker Elementary
School and a lifetime member of the Coeymans Volunteer Fire Co.
Ladies Auxiliary. Helky was an avid reader, gardener and
birdwatcher. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by
her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, March 5, 2018 at
The Church of St. Patrick, Ravena. Burial will follow in St.
Patrickís Cemetery, Coeymans. Family and friends are invited and
may also call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena, from 4 to 7 p.m.,
on Sunday, March 4, 2018. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may
make memorial contributions to
