NEW BALTIMORE – Charles
A. Irving, Sr., 89, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014. Charles
was born in Coxsackie, son of the late John and Hazel Irving and
lived in New Baltimore for many years. He was a Navy Veteran serving
during WWII. Before his retirement Charles was the service manager
at Marshall’s Garage in Ravena for 40 years.
Charles enjoyed gardening and stock car racing. He was a member of
the Hall of Fame at Lebanon Valley Speedway and the NYS Stockcar
Survivors include his wife, Eva Goldrick Irving; sons, Charles Jr.
(Patricia) and John Sr. (Joann); grandchildren, John Jr, Sarah,
Charles III, Elizabeth, Mathew, Nathan and Zachary;
great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brooke; brothers, Louis and Gene;
sisters, Alma and Blanche. He was predeceased by his brothers John,
Laverne and Rudolph and sisters, Betty and Nota.
Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Tuesday,
November 25th from 10 to 11 AM with the funeral immediately
following at 11. Interment will follow in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in Charles’s
memory be made to the charity of your choice.
