COEYMANS-----James Howard (Jim) Martin – Born
April 24, 1947 died peacefully at home on October 8, 2017, at age 70
years. Born in Ticonderoga, of the late Howard F. Martin and late
Mary Jane Martin (Stone), Jim lived in Mineville, NY for most of his
childhood and graduated from Moriah Central School in 1965. He
attended Plattsburgh state college and worked for Republic Steel in
the Mineville mines for a short time, before enlisting in the US
Army in 1968. He served his country proudly in the US Army in Viet
Nam, Okinawa and stateside beginning in 1968 and ending in 1981. He
spent most of his post-military career as a dispatcher for the New
York State Thruway Authority, before retiring circa 2000. In
retirement, Jim served as Assistant Chief of the Fire Police in
Ravena, NY and was active in the Ravena, NY VFW Post 9594.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, his
sister, Mrs. Barbara A. Bart (Martin) of Carolina Shores, NC and
Elizabethtown, NY (formerly of Gardiner, NY) and his nephew, Andrew
J. Bart of Rosendale, NY. He is survived by his 5 nieces and
nephews; Carol Goldie (Bart) of Canton, NY, Eric Bart of Boxford,
MA, Thomas Bart of Raymond, NH, Paul Bart of Carolina Shores, NC and
Deborah Butler (Bart) of Ooltewah, TN; and their spouses. He is
also survived by 16 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Jim owned 3 Chevy Camaro’s during his
life. He owned two Harley Davidson motorcycles, and traveled the
eastern United States from Florida to Maine. His most outstanding
passion in life was as an avid railroad fan and model train
collector, a hobby he was devoted to for his entire life.

14, 2017 from 9 to 11 am. All other services will be held privately
at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions
