CLARKSVILLE – Jennie Domanico Tracey passed peacefully in her sleep at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Healthcare Center on February 9th 2016 at the age of 95. She was one of seven children. She graduated from the Coeymans School in Coeymans, NY and had worked at the mushroom plant in Ravena and as a bank teller.  She married Robert Tracey in May of 1954 and they purchased a home in Clarksville NY in May of 1960.  During the late 60s and throughout the 70s, she worked as a lunch room / playground monitor and I’m sure every child who attended Clarksville Elementary during this time remembers her well.  Jennie was active in Girl Scouting with her daughters, enjoyed volunteering in community activities including becoming a member of the OVFC Women's Auxiliary for several years.  She enjoyed watching sports on TV especially baseball and basketball and yes, she was a Yankee fan and a Knicks fan. She enjoyed arts and crafts and would create beautiful wreaths and other pieces according to the seasons and enjoyed participating in playing board games and other activities while she resided at Good Sam.  Most of all, Jennie loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, family, neighbors and friends.

Survivors include her children, Patricia (Edward) Zabel, Missy Tracey and Frank Tracey;  5 grandchildren;  1 great-granddaughter;  sister, Rose Sickles;  brother, Edward Domanico;  and many nieces and nephews.  Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Robert Tracey, sisters, Mary Smith, Theresa Storr and Margaret Spence and her brother John Domanico

Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 3 to 6 PM.  Her funeral service will be held 10 AM on Monday, February 15th at the funeral home with interment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Coeymans.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be offered to The Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center or Saint Patrick's Church in Ravena.
