RAVENA – Anna M.
Nunziato Varcasia, 90, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven by
her devoted husband on Friday, September 11, 2015 while surrounded
by her loving family.
born July 31, 1925 in Ravena and continued to make Ravena her home
for the 90 years she blessed all that knew her. She graduated from
Ravena High School in 1943 and worked for the NY telephone company.
Anna was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena for all of
her life. She was recently selected for the annual Senior Lifetime
Achievement Award for 2015 for decades of her volunteer work as the
head of St. Patrick’s Thrift Shop. Anna loved her church, all the
people, and most especially her family.
predeceased by her husband, Frank “Mummy” Varcasia. She is survived
by her daughter Marylou Varcasia Clifford of Melrose, NY; sisters,
Rose Schermerhorn and Marie Kinley, both of Ravena; and many loving
nieces and nephews. Anna was also predeceased by her sister
Jessamine Hotaling and brother Frank Nunziato.
services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, September 15th at St. Patrick’s
Church, Ravena. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery,
Coeymans. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on
Monday from 4 to 7 PM.
