 CALABASH, NC – Carol Ann Ward, 59, formerly of Ravena, died peacefully in North Carolina August 25, 2018.  Born in Ravena on March 13, 1959, Carol lived in North Carolina with her husband of 30 years, Stephen Ward, formerly of Corinth, New York.  She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Edith Eck of Ravena.

     In addition to her husband she is survived by her sister Joyce Perrine (Richard) of Ravena; brother, Robert Eck (Julie) of Ravena; her aunt, Marion Covey of Hagerstown, MD; stepsons, Matthew Ward of California and Kevin Ward of Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     After graduating from Fredonia State University College, Carol started her career with the Ayco Corporation in Albany, New York.  After marrying Stephen, they moved to Tampa, FL where she worked in banking.  Upon moving to Maryland, she worked at Johnson-Lambert Co. and Veris Consulting, earned her Master’s in Taxation from Georgetown University and rose to the position of partner.  In 2009 she left the firm to start her own business, CaLa Consulting until her death.

     Carol loved to travel and visited many states and other countries with Stephen, her mother and a group of their friends.  Her hobbies included Mahjong and Mexican Train Dominos with groups in her community.  She enjoyed meeting new people, attending concerts and dining out with her family and friends.

     A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Babcock Funeral Home in Ravena from 4 to 7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Congregational Christian Church, 175 Main St., Ravena, NY 12143.

     The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice “Brunswick House”, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422 or North Carolina Nurses Foundation, through the North Carolina Nurses Association, 4350 Lassiter at North Hills Ave. #250, Raleigh, NC 27609, for the excellent care they provided during Carol’s illness.  Instructions for donations can be found on their websites.
